On July 30th, 2019, an article written by Jeff Labine was released by the Edmonton Journal highlighting a co-generation project currently underway in Alberta. CanGEA member, the University of Alberta (UoA) is mentioned throughout the article. Jonathan Banks, the project lead with the UoA, said "oilfield activity produces a lot of hot water by bringing geothermal energy to the surface through day-to-day operations."
