CanGEA promotes the industry and the potential of geothermal energy in Canada through outreach events, research, policy work, and representation of Canadian interests internationally.

The primary objective of this role is to be a liaison between CanGEA and its membership, as well as to play the role of Office Administrator for an in-person small office of 10 team-mates.

The candidate must be comfortable working in an in-person downtown Calgary office environment, as well as be able to self-identify work priorities and operate independently.
The ideal candidate has a professional attitude and experience working in an office setting. The position is open to a diverse candidate pool and experience in geoscience or engineering is not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a personable corporate online presence (including social media).
- Manage and maintain multiple websites and domains.
- Develop and implement a social media strategy.
- Website design and graphics.
- Creation of monthly newsletters for members.
- Act as the Lead on membership (customer) relationship management (CRM) and attracting new members.
- Office Administration and supporting team-mates with recurring business tasks.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous indication of interest/participation in the geothermal industry.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong research skills.
- Highly effective written and oral communicator.
- Results-oriented with a track record of achieving targets.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Qualifications:
- University Degree / College Diploma, attained or materially completed.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Microsoft Office software
- DropBox
- Weebly
- Canva
- Go Daddy
- Mac OS and PC Windows IT security, computer maintenance best practices, and troubleshooting errors
Preferred experience in but not required:
- Office administration.
- Working in an entrepreneurial team environment.
- IT management.
- Experience in the Canadian energy field.
- Defining goals for the youth’s future employment.
- Identifying areas for future improvement and providing/recommending resources for attaining these goals.
- Teaching the youth about the various aspects of geothermal and renewable energy development.
- Accompanying the youth to technical luncheons, where they will have support in understanding various subjects whilst also benefiting from being introduced to the team’s wider professional network.

To be ELIGIBLE for the internship, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) or be a registered student in either a post-secondary institution or enrolled in a professional designation program.
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or granted refugee status in Canada.
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
- Only applicants that meet the eligibility requirements and are willing to accept an intern’s salary will be considered for this role.
- Not in receipt of a government wage assistance program within the past year.
