On September 19th, 2019, A new pre-feasibility study, Clarke Lake Geothermal Pre-Feasibility Study, was published. The study evaluates the potential to repurpose the Clarke Lake Field natural gas field to host a pilot plant to generate geothermal energy and heat; An assessment of two potential sites close to the Clarke Lake Gas Field south of Fort Nelson is found within the report.

An Albertan company is pleased to announce the successful completion of drilling activities at its’ demonstration facility in Clearwater County, Alberta, East of Rocky Mountain House, the World’s first of its kind multi-lateral horizontal drilling intersection was made safely and successfully on September 1st, 2019.
