The British Columbia (BC) Government and Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC) have signed and released a memorandum of understanding (MOU), in which the parties will work together to develop an industrial strategy that transitions B.C. into a low-carbon economy leader.
The following point, among others, relates to geothermal resource utilization: Guiding Purpose and Principles, 2: the Strategy will enable current comparative advantages and purposefully leverage further advancements to position and market BC companies that produce commodities, goods, energy and innovations that combine to become a competitive low carbon export economy. This MOU was released in light of the BC government’s soon-to-be-announced climate strategy and in acknowledgement that this strategy is a foundational component of the proposed low-carbon industrial strategy.
