Workshop Facilitator - Tim Thompson

9/24/2014

"The only form of knowledge is experience" - Albert Einstein

This is why CanGEA has worked so hard to bring a workshop facilitator with a wealth of experience in both international technology transfer AND geothermal project development to this gathering.

Strategy Consultant, Tim Thompson, has worked in Canada, the United States, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. His recent projects include:
  • Developing a technology strategy for the largest Canadian unconventional energy operator
  • Managing and delivering an assessment of global energy super-major's unconventional technology strategy, and putting in place plans to achieve Tier 1 performance
  • Developing and leading a market entry strategy for a Fortune 50 corporation in the refining space

Mr. Thompson is the author of CanGEA's Geothermal Technology Roadmap: Global Best Practices Summary - Exploration through Generation.

Further, Tim is the CEO of Borealis Geopower, a start-up geothermal developer with assets in British Columbia.

Tim brings a perspective of the local challenges and opportunities for geothermal energy development all around the world.
