Join CanGEA's members Alex Sarmiento, Craig Dunn (Borealis GeoPower) and T.M. Gunderson (Enerpro Engineering) for an exciting talk at the Canadian Association of Drilling Engineers (CADE).Earth contains an incredibly vast amount of thermal energy, locked in water reservoirs the same way hydrocarbons are. This energy can be used in a geothermal power plant to drive a steam turbine, which is able to create electricity for oil & gas facilities, residential, industrial and commercial use. Any leftover heat can also be used in a variety of industrial heating applications like greenhouses, paper, pulp and lumber drying, fruit and meat drying, commercial and industrial heating, city and roads heating, bathing, harvesting of Lithium minerals for manufacturing of rechargeable batteries, and roads and sidewalk heating (just to name a few). By targeting these geothermal reservoirs, we can develop this resource using the same technologies and processes that have been used by the Oil and Gas Energy sector for decades. When?
