Geothermal Technology Transfer Workshop Limited number of tickets - register soon! Are you looking to grow your business by serving new markets? CanGEA helps organizations recognize the overlap between their current lines of business, and helps them adapt their services and technologies to access new markets within the geothermal power and heat industry by:
Technology has a large role to play in harnessing geothermal energy. While the industry has been established for more than a century, it remains a subsurface exploitation business – characterized by large gaps in information and significant associated risk at the early project stages, which various technologies attempt to address. The issues are compounded by the fact that as global resource exploitation has taken place for over a century, the remaining resources are further down the economic merit order. Technology has been called on to respond to and push both the operating and economic boundaries and move these lower quality resources towards financial viability. CanGEA’s mandate is the development of the geothermal energy industry in Canada and to help our members with their international projects. We need the equipment and services which originate from the aerospace & defence industry to make geothermal projects more competitive and to increase our known resource base, whether in Canada, or internationally. The workshop aims to provide briefings to aerospace equipment & service providers about how the geothermal industry can be an end user of your technology. It also seeks to identify the incremental innovations and inventions required by the research community. For example, geothermal energy development benefits from remote sensing technology (satellites, drones, etc.) which can find geothermal hot spots and provide ongoing reservoir management. We believe there may be many more cross-over opportunities. Others include:
In essence, the workshop aims to inform the aerospace & defence industry that there are additional buyers for your equipment and services in another market segment, and to inform on the types of technologies & services required from the exploration through the operational phase of geothermal projects. Join us for the third technology transfer workshop of our Geothermal Innovation Roadmap. It will be held from 9:00am to 12:00pm and the price is $200. Subsidies are available for this workshop and can be found below. Workshop Agenda:
There will be a similar technology transfer workshop featuring the mining industry in the afternoon. We are offering a package deal for those wishing to attend both workshops for $350. Please click here for details about the mining workshop. The workshop is part of the GSA's Annual Conference and group hotel rates are available. Check their website for a list of participating venues. Subsidy Details:Are you attending the Technology Transfer Workshops from outside of Canada? We can help you with some of your travel costs.
