Ron Bettin - ReSOURCE YYC
Innovation in Alberta: Is there a path from oil & gas to geothermal?

Sean Collins - Terrapin
Unlocking low temperature geothermal opportunities in Alberta

Adrien Desmarais - Petrospec Engineering
Introduction to Downhole Instrumentation and Deployment in Geothermal Reservoirs

As the geothermal industry begins to accelerate in Canada and internationally, it will be necessary to collect downhole reservoir conditions (temperature and pressure for example) in real time. Incorporating instrumentation into geothermal well completions can provide the necessary reservoir monitoring capabilities using field proven oilfield techniques. On the flip side, reservoir maintenance, infrastructure and well integrity and corrosion and scaling issues will need to be addressed and mitigated. Applying oilfield technology and completions to custom designed downhole chemical injection systems will greatly enhance production well integrity and can have a dramatic effect on operating costs.
