In 2010, CanGEA published its first report giving an overview on geothermal development and projects in Canada. We are now proud to publish a new report that shows the status of development as of January 2014. The 43-page report provides an overview on the different forms of geothermal utilization and geothermal resources in Canada. It also touches upon the resource potential and then provides an overview on current power and heat projects. Furthermore the report features a list of the main geothermal hot springs in western Canada and provides an overview on the international activities of Canadian companies in the geothermal energy sector. Today governments of all levels are exploring the many benefits of adopting geothermal energy to meet increasing power and heating demands across the country. The report provides an overview on current activities that could be increased with the right incentives and support.
