The rebates, originally named the Climate Action Incentive Payment, are now referred to as the Canada Carbon Rebate.

In addition to the program rebrand, the Chair of the Ministerial Working Group on Regulatory Efficiency for Clean Growth Projects issued a statement highlighting the government's initiatives to improve federal regulatory and permitting processes, including measures aiming to make processes more efficient, transparent, and predictable. Furthermore, the government plans to amend the Impact Assessment Act and launch a public permitting dashboard.
