BC’s Commercial Energy Consumers (CEC) and CanGEA Submit Joint Follow up to the BC Government

Mr. David Craig, Executive Director of the CEC, has collaborated with CanGEA to advance our joint interest in advancing regulatory parity for geothermal in BC to establish a more stable, reliable, and clean energy grid in the province.

Although there are several issues that have persisted in silence in BC over the years, our follow up letter sent out in August specifically addressed that geothermal has been excluded as a prescribed undertaking in the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Regulation (GGRR) to receive exclusive rate recovery incentives.

It is time that BC considers broader public and private interest by taking action to include geothermal in their environmental and energy policies moving forward, as Alberta has done. See our joint letter with the CEC here.
