On November 25, 2024, Premier Danielle Smith, Minister Rebecca Schulz, John Redfern of Eavor Technologies, John Gorman of Halliburton and other stakeholders, including London Hillyer of CanGEA, gathered at the Canadian Energy Museum near Leduc for the announcement of a $50 million Government of Alberta investment to fund the activities of the Alberta Drilling Accelerator (ADA).
With CanGEA, the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (CAOEC), and Eavor Technologies on the steering Committee, the ADA will spur innovation in various drilling industries-- including geothermal. “Alberta has the resources and expertise to become a world leader in geothermal innovation. The Alberta Drilling Accelerator will be a beacon for collaboration and the development of made-in-Alberta geothermal technologies that advance global energy security and carbon neutrality.” Said John Redfern.
