In addition to discussions on House of Commons happenings and elections across Canada and the US, the topic of energy security surfaced, with the member declaring that “we need geothermal” to complement variable renewables. CanGEA also raised awareness of our advocacy efforts for the Clean Technology ITC, as well as the proposed amendments to the budget bill that may limit our industry’s access to the incentive.
Our letter to Finance Canada presents a case to allow production drilling as an eligible expenditure under the ITC by striking or amending the proposals. Policy-level members may view the submission here.
