CanGEA Featured on Gorilla Radio

11/27/2014

CanGEA Chair and Managing Director, Alison Thompson, was interviewed by Chris Cook, of Gorilla Radio, to discuss geothermal energy as an alternative to the controversial Site C Clean Energy Project (Site C). Gorilla Radio is dedicated to discussing social justice, the environment, and community. You can listen to the interview online here (starts at 36:30).

"With binary systems there is actually a very low environmental footprint. We have the lowest footprint of any energy source." - Alison Thompson

CanGEA featured on The EcoReport podcast

11/10/2014

Last week, CanGEA was featured on the EcoReport, where Chair - Alison Thompson - set the record straight on BC's geothermal potential. To access the podcast and attached article, visit here.
"Given the opposition to site C in the Peace River Valley, and the fact thousands of acres of valuable farm land will be submerged if the project goes forward, it seems shocking to read BC Hydro said they were “not expected” to explore this option.

So why has British Columbia not developed any geothermal?"
- Roy Hales, The EcoReport
